This NYS Department of Health/NYS Department of Education approved webinar may be used to train unlicensed school personnel in recognizing signs of anaphylaxis and how to respond using an Epinephrine Auto-Injector (EAI).

Annual Emergency Glucagon Administration Training for Unlicensed School Personnel
Annual Emergency Glucagon Administration Training for Unlicensed School Personnel (40 minutes)
This webinar website course may be used to provide group training. Please note schools choosing to provide group training will be responsible for ensuring participants successfully complete the post-knowledge check (with a minimum of 80%) and successfully complete the skills checklist by the school nurse (RN) or other licensed school health professional (NP, PA, Physician).
This training is approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSed) to train unlicensed school personnel to administer prescribed emergency glucagon to a student with a written parent or guardian consent pursuant to Education Law Article 19, section 921 and Commissioner's Regulation 136.7. After successful completion, the learner will receive a certificate of completion valid for one year.
The above webinar is the first part of the Glucagon training. To complete this training you must download and print the Glucagon Skills Checklist, Post Knowledge Check, and the Certificate of Completion below. Bring these documents to the school nurse (RN) or the licensed health professional (NP, PA, Physician) who will be conducting the second part of this training.
When you have completed the second part of the training, the school nurse or the licensed health professional will need to see your certificate of completion indicating you passed the post-knowledge check and sign the skills checklist indicating that you have successfully completed the Annual Emergency Glucagon Administration Training for Unlicensed School Personnel.

This presentation will provide information for school personnel which will increase awareness and understanding of human trafficking and help school personnel recognize warning signs of youth who may be victims of human trafficking, what to do if human trafficking is suspected, and resources for assisting victims of trafficking. This presentation will define human trafficking, recruitment, identify risk factors and indicators of human trafficking. Children and youth who are exposed to domestic violence experience negative emotional, mental, and cognitive development that impacts their future wellness. This course frames domestic and intimate partner violence in terms of its impact on children and youth and outlines strategies that school staff can use to support students and families affected by violence. While sexually transmitted infections (STIs) affect individuals of all ages, STIs take a particularly heavy toll on youth. The CDC estimates that youth ages 15-24 account for almost 50% of new sexually transmitted infections that occurred in the United States in 2018. This course will reveal the increase and implications of STIs on school-aged students and the evidence-based tools to help school health providers support students. Children’s positive experiences or protective factors can prevent them from experiencing adversity and can protect against many of the negative health and life outcomes even after adversity has occurred. This presentation shares information about the Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) Survey and how ACES and trauma relate to health and learning. Addressing conditions that put children and families at risk of ACEs is important so that we can prevent ACEs before they happen. This course will provide an overview of the current prevalence of HIV/STIs in NYS school-age youth, barriers to care, and prevention and education strategies.
