2017 Revised Classification of Seizures
The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) has revised its classification of seizures. The changes will help make diagnosing and classifying seizures more accurate and easier. 

Seizure Medications (None of these medications may be delegated to unlicensed personnel)

    • Diastat® Rectal Diazepam - Provides information on Diastat medication and how to administer it. 
    • Nayzilam® midazolam Nasal Spray - Provides information on Nayzillam nasal spray and how to administer it. Approved for ages 12 and over. Used for short-term treatment of seizure clusters.  
    • Valtoco® diazepam Nasal Spray - Provides information on Valtoco nasal spray and how to administer it. Approved for ages 6 and over. Used to treat periods of clusters that are distinct from the person’s usual seizure pattern.

Provides sample guidelines for provider restriction of student activity based on the student's seizure history. It may be used as a guide for district medical directors and private HCPs in developing plans for safe school participation.
