Body Mass Index (BMI) Measurement in Schools and Safeguards
Safeguards are an essential part of a BMI measurement program. They help to ensure respect for student privacy and confidentiality, protect students from potential harm, and increase the likelihood that the program will have a positive impact on promoting a healthy weight. Safeguards 1-8 are relevant to both screening and surveillance programs.
