Letter to Administrators requiring New York State public schools to request, or ask, for a dental health certificate of students (NYSED 2008)
This letter was sent to administrators to inform them of the law passed in 2007 requiring NYS public schools to ask for a dental health certificate from students at the time of school entry and in grades K, 2, 4, 7, and 10. Beginning in the 2008 - 2009 school year, schools were required to request a dental health certificate and, upon request, provide a list of dentists to which students who need dental examinations may be referred on a free or reduced-cost basis.  Effective September 1, 2008, regulations 7/1/2018 to align with health exam grade levels
