In New York State, insurance is provided through NY State of Health which is designed to help people shop for and enroll in health insurance coverage. Anyone who needs health coverage can apply. Individuals, families and small businesses can use the Marketplace to help them compare insurance options, calculate costs and select coverage online, in-person, on the phone or by mail.  The Marketplace helps people to check their eligibility for health care programs like Medicaid and sign up for these programs if they are eligible.  The Marketplace also tells what type of financial assistance is available to applicants to help them afford health insurance purchased through the Marketplace. Family Health Plus is a public health insurance program for adults who are aged 19 to 64 available to single adults, couples without children, and parents who are residents of New York State and are United States citizens or fall under one of many immigration categories who have income too high to qualify for Medicaid.  It provides
comprehensive coverage, including prevention, primary care, hospitalization, prescriptions and other services.
