NYS STop Antibiotic Resistance Roadmap AR (STARR)

The New York State Department of Health is pleased to announce the release of the NYS STop Antibiotic Resistance Roadmap (STARR) (www.health.ny.gov/antibioticresistance) which compiles the recommendations of the NYS Antimicrobial Resistance (AR) Prevention & Control Task Force and directs New York’s response to the urgent public health concern over growing antimicrobial resistance in the state.

The NYS AR Task Force is a partnership of federal, state and local agencies, and brings together expert representatives from healthcare facilities, outpatient settings, long-term care settings, academia, veterinary, agriculture, and environmental sectors to collaborate and suggest innovative solutions to control AR and enhance patient safety.

New York is a national leader in efforts to reduce drug-resistant infections and the NYS STARR provides a roadmap to continue the fight.

Sections 1.4 and 5.8 address areas where schools can be involved.
