NYSDOH/NYSED Approved Training Webinar (22 minutes)

This NYS Department of Health/NYS Department of Education approved webinar must be used to train unlicensed school personnel for non-patient-specific administration of Epinephrine in recognizing signs of anaphylaxis and how to respond using an Epinephrine Auto-Injector (EAI).

Annual Emergency Glucagon Administration Training for Unlicensed School Personnel (40 minutes)
This webinar was created for the school nurse to use for group training of school staff.
 
         * Individual / Independent training should be completed in the Learning Management System (LMS) found below.

This New York State Education Department approved training must be used when training unlicensed school personnel to administer prescribed emergency glucagon to a student with written parent/guardian consent pursuant to Education Law Article 19, section 921, and Commissioner's Regulation 136.7. Please note: schools choosing to provide group training will be responsible for ensuring participants successfully complete the post-knowledge check (with a minimum of 80%) and successfully complete the skills checklist with the school nurse (RN) or other licensed school health professional (NP, PA, Physician).  

This training is approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to train unlicensed school personnel to administer prescribed emergency glucagon to a student with a written parent or guardian consent pursuant to Education Law Article 19, section 921 and Commissioner's Regulation 136.7.  After successful completion, the learner will receive a certificate of completion valid for one year.

The above webinar is the first part of the Glucagon training. To complete this training, you must download and print the Glucagon Skills Checklist, Post Knowledge Check, and the Certificate of Completion below. Bring these documents to the school nurse (RN) or the licensed health professional (NP, PA, Physician) who will be conducting the second part of this training. 

When you have completed the second part of the training, the school nurse or the licensed health professional will need to see your certificate of completion indicating you passed the post-knowledge check and sign the skills checklist indicating that you have successfully completed the Annual Emergency Glucagon Administration Training for Unlicensed School Personnel.
