Whistleblower Law - NY Labor Law §740, §741
New York's Whistleblower Protection Law protects employees who provide healthcare services from retaliatory action by their employers. In 2002, legislation was passed referred to as Whistleblower Protection, which protects employees who provide healthcare services from retaliatory action by their employers when the employee discloses or refuses to participate in activities they believe constitute improper quality of patient care.
New York State Private Sector Whistleblower Labor Law §740, §741 Prohibits an employer from taking retaliatory personnel action against employees because the employee made a complaint of employer violations.
