This dashboard shows data and statistics on suicide and self-harm injuries in different ways at the local, regional, and state-wide levels and assists suicide education and prevention efforts.
Suicidal Thoughts and Behaviors Among New York High School Students: 2021 New York Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS)
The NY YRBS is a primary source of state-representative, self-reported information on suicidal thoughts and attempts among NY adolescents. The report outlines the prevalence of prolonged sadness, suicidal thoughts, and suicide attempts by student demographics, followed by 29 risk factors related to school climate, violence, health behaviors, sexual behaviors, tobacco and vape use, and alcohol and drug use.

Suicide Prevention Center of NYS
Operated by the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene with funding from the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH), SPCNY offers training and workshops for school personnel including Creating Suicide Safety in Schools, Suicide Safety Training for School Staff, and Helping Students at Risk for Suicide. SPCNY also provides consultation to schools, school districts, professional organizations, and state and local agencies.

Provides suicide prevention and crisis services to LGBTQ youth.
You Matter
Provides a safe space for youth to discuss and share stories about mental health and wellness, created and administered by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. There are youth pages and other resources on the website. It is part of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline website.
